Obituary for Margaret Edmond Gray

Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto on Thursday, January 21, 2016 in her 92nd year, after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland to John and Isabella (nee Smith) Cormack, Margaret grew up there and was a veteran of World War II. In 1952 she immigrated to Canada with her husband Peter ("Pat") and two young sons. While embracing life in Toronto, she never ceased to be an Aberdonian in her heart. She had a long and active association with Mimico Presbyterian Church and was a valued resident of Grigg's Manor in Etobicoke for more than 40 years. She was cherished by so many, young and old alike. She will be greatly missed. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Peter ("Pat"). She is survived by her loving sons Peter (Nola Wale) and Gerry (Brenda Porter), daughter-in-law Wallena Higgins, nieces and nephews, and other members of her extended family. Visitors will be received at the Mimico Presbyterian Church, 119 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. The memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm in the church, with a social time and lunch to follow. Memorial donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Salvation Army or the Huntington’s Society of Canada.
