Obituary for Francis "Bud" Anderson

“Bud” Anderson

(September 28, 1928 – September 17, 2016)

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on September 17, 2016 in his 87th year after a bravely fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He is survived by his wife Ruth and children Stephen, Blake, Russell (Daphne) and Nancy (Kent Jordan) and Paul (Jean-Sebastien Lessard) and grandchildren, Zackary, Alana, Carly, Erika and Curtis.

Bud was born in Parry Sound and grew up in Ottawa. As a young man, Bud joined his close friends and soon to be brother-in-law Lorne spending many hours marching in the trumpet band of HMCS Carleton, the “Pride of the Navy” where they were in great demand to play at public functions throughout central Canada during the 1950‘s.

Shortly after marriage and starting their family, it was decided to move to opportunistic Toronto for his life-long career in Graphic Arts. He and the family enjoyed spending time in Florida and travelling to many places around the globe. Travel, meeting new people, and spreading humor to whoever he met was certainly a passion for Bud. A celebration of his life will be held in Royal York United Church in Etobicoke on Sunday September 25th at 2:00pm. Visitation one hour prior to the service. (1:00 pm)
