Obituary for William Liber

William Liber Q.C.
December 5, 1929 – April 1, 2017
With much sadness we announce that William (Bill) Liber passed away peacefully in Toronto on April 1, 2017.
Beloved husband of 31 years to Stell Liber and survived by sister Stephanie (the late Peter Mykulak). Loving mother to Peter (Josee), Julie (Joe), Christine (Michael) and proud Gigi to Grace, Theo and Jackson. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Betty (the late Steve Rusynyk) and many nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from Osgoode Hall in 1957 and was a partner at Gardiner Roberts until his retirement in 1996. He was appointed to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and served as Vice-Chair until 2012. Victims who came before the board benefited from his experience, respect and compassion. He volunteered for numerous committees and boards including the O’Keefe Centre for the Performing Arts where he and Stell enjoyed the ballet and opera.
Dad was a life long learner, CBC radio listener, wise counsel and loyal friend.
Visitation will be Tuesday April 4 at 5:00pm with a Panakhyda at 7:00pm at G. H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Avenue, Toronto (416-251-7531) A private family Orthodox Rite of Funeral and interment will take place on April 5.
