Elda, in her 101st year, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Loving wife of the late Paul Parteno. Dear daughter of the late Teresa Biscaro. Dear sister to the late Orlando (Mary) and Rico (Maureen).
Loving mother to Barbara (Peter), Sandra (Barry) and Paula (Ross). Dear Noni and GG, to Christine (Gord), Allan, Ken (Maggie), Peter (Sue), Valerie (Doug), Jana (Sean), Matthew, Kevin, Tim (Jenna), and great-grandmother to Emily, Allyson., Noah, Melanie, William, Lexie, Christian, Seth, Cali, Thad, Theo, Thane, Brianna and Leah.
Elda was born in Port Credit, later moving to Mimico where she married and raised her family and was greatly involved in St. Leo’s Parish. On moving to Etobicoke, in her later years, Elda spent many hours in volunteer work at the (former) Queensway Cathedral (now Church on the Queensway). Later moving to Brampton and residing at The Heritage Seniors Residence she attended Kennedy Road Tabernacle along with family in Brampton.
Elda spent many happy years working at her brother & sister-in-law's, (Orlando and Mary's), family run grocery store (the Circle Market) in Long Branch, which gave her and her daughters, wonderful memories of close times with relatives.
Later, she worked for many years as a Ward Clerk at St. Joseph's Hospital where she greatly enjoyed working on the Pediatric Ward, and had many fond memories of her times there.
She spent her last 3 years residing at the Chartwell Westbury Long Term Care where she received exceptional care from the nursing staff. Special thanks to Elana, Renata, Jennifer and to the varying personal support workers and all the exceptional staff of the 6th floor. We thank you.
