The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Helen Bailey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A Memory of Helen

I will always remember Helen for many reasons and one of them was her teaching me about transferable skills 18 years ago before it was a "thing". The City of Toronto, Social Services was hiring Administrative Assistants and Helen, my neighbour at the time, advised me of the job openings. When she showed me the job posting, I adivsed her that I did not have the required qualifications. However, Helen knew where I worked and what I did and showed me how to re-word a lot of my qualificaitons. She helped me realize that I did have the qualifications and encouraged me to apply. I applied, was accepted and I will always remember that Helen Bailey showed me a path out of poverty. Thank you Helen.
