Obituary for Caterina Roberto (Iannone)
ROBERTO, Caterina - February 25, 1923 -- March 8, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Caterina Roberto.
Caterina passed away peacefully at home, at the incredible age of 96, cared
for by her loving family.
She was a beloved wife to the late Leonardo for 63 years. Proud mother to
Michael and wife Norma, Peter and wife Marie. Adored Nonna of Adam
(Christine), Nicole (Brett), Katrina, and John Paul, and a devoted Bisnonna
to Alexandra, Julia, and Evelyn. She was the cherished sister of Andrea
(Lucia), Angela (Carmine), Donata (Benito), and the late Carmela (Filippo),
and shared many joyful times with her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Caterina had a long and wonderful life. She was born in Roseto Valfortore,
Italy and immigrated to Canada with Leonardo in 1958 to build a better life
for their family. They were sponsored by her sister Angela and
brother-in-law Carmine and were always thankful for their support.
Her love and devotion to her family was always evident as she delighted in
our achievements, big or small. We are so fortunate to have been the
recipients of her love and we will miss her tremendously.To the many friends and neighbors that Caterina made , thank you for sharing her beautiful journey.
