Obituary

Beesley, Timothy

Passed peacefully on Sunday March 31st, 2019 at the age of 75 in Toronto. Tim leaves behind his beloved family - wife of 49 years Jane, three children Blair (Zenobia), Bridget (Bryan) and Dale (Jennifer) and eight adored grandchildren Anaita, Neville & Aidan; Noah, Matilda & Charlie; Carolyn & Andrew. Tim graduated from the University of Toronto B.Sc in Applied Geology in 1965 and earned an M.Sc from the University of Colorado in 1967 before traveling to Australia where he started his long and fulfilling career as an Exploration Geologist and Professional Engineer. In Perth, Australia he met and married Jane Freeman before eventually returning home to Canada in 1972. He later worked across Canada from the NWT to Labrador while raising a family in Toronto and eventually operating his own consulting firm for many years. He was a proud father who provided opportunities for sports, camps, and studies while taking time to enjoy the outdoors, including an appreciation for birds. His thoughtfulness, quick wit and quiet determination will be missed.

Special thanks to all of the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael’s Hospital for their tremendous support, care and kindness over the last months of Tim’s life, he was, and the family is, forever grateful.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of Tim. My condolences to Jane and family.
My memories of Tim go way back to elementary school days. We lived on the same street growing up. In those days kids played on the street. We spent many hours playing ball hockey and touch football. Sometimes there were arguments about whether someone had been touched, but we had great games, and fun. One constant problem with ball hockey was to keep the ball from going under a parked car. With football we tried hard to not have errant throws bounce off a car hood. Another problem was a cranky neighbour who would try to snatch - and keep - any ball which landed on his lawn. And sometimes the cops showed up to tell us to stop playing on the road... we suspected they were called by the neighbour.
Another fond memory was watching TV at Tim's, way before my family had TV.
Great times. Good memories.
