Brian was a loving husband for 35 years to his wife Cheryl (nee Rossini). Dear son-in-law to Vivian Rossini of Windsor and the late Bruno Rossini, brother-in-law of Jocelyn Rumble and the late Donald Rumble of Windsor, Brenda Lanoue and her husband Philip of Windsor, brother-in-law to Philip Rossini of Woodslee and his wife Kelly, and brother-in-law to Bruce Rossini of Whitmore Lake, Michigan. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, good friends and Fraternal Brothers. Brian fought a long, hard battle with cancer.
He was commissioned in 1973 and served over 7 years in the Canadian Military, which led to his interest in computers, which he pursued for several years until a bout with cancer limited his mobility. Brian spent about 14 years acting as chauffeur to residents of Widdicombe Place, and he thrived on the interaction with his customers, who he considered friends.
Brian was a Mason for over 20 years and was especially proud of fund raising in conjunction with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel for the annual bowl for Kids Sake, where he also played their Santa Claus for several years at the annual Christmas party. He also enjoyed raising funds for the Shriner Hospitals by selling fruitcakes, as well as other charitable fund raising items.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at the Westway United Church at 8 Templar Drive, Etobicoke ON M9R 3C7 (north of the Westway just off Kipling Avenue). Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 30th. A luncheon at the church follows the service.
