Obituary for Alexey Bekker
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Bekker, who died on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at St.Joseph’s Health Center, surrounded by his wife and children.
Born on April 30, 1960 in Cape Schmidt, he moved with his family to Israel in 1991, a country he loved and called home, before finally settling in Canada in 2001.
Alex was warm, kind, and selfless. He was an avid reader, loved dogs, and was well known within online culinary communities.
He was a steady anchor in our lives and showed courage and strength in difficult times; especially these last two weeks. Survived by his wife, Valentina Bekker; his daughter, Marina Bekker; son, Anton Bekker; and his brother, Vladimir Bekker. He is profoundly missed by his uncle, Alexey Becker; his wife, Gesia Becker; his niece, Libi Becker, his cousin Pavel Bekker; and his niece Oksana Bekker.
He loved his family fiercely, and his memory will live on with them, always.
