Born on June 24, 1932 in Oshawa, Ontario. Passed away on December 7, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto. Predeceased by parents, Maxwell Laurier Smith and Minnie Susannah Marcella Winnacott and siblings Major Raymond Loyd Johnston, Helen “Lorraine” Johnston, Joseph Ronald “Johnny” Johnston, William “Bill” Johnston and Vera Johnston. Survived by children, Beverley Duff, Barbara Catalfamo and Barry Duff (Diane) and grandchildren Shannon “Shane” Soady (Theresa), Bryan Soady ( Michelle), Carrie Camirand (Cam), Jennifer “Jenn” McLean (Brian), Jodi Tilley (Chris), and Michael Catalfamo ( Betty). Also survived by great grandchildren, William “ Billy” Kavanagh, Kaitlynn “ Katie” Thornburg, Zachary Soady, Mikayla, Joseph and Hunter Parsons. A private family gathering will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held in the New Year for family and friends.
