It is with great sadness that we will say goodbye to David Genio who passed away peacefully of natural causes January 13, 2023 at the age of 92 years old.

David was born October 23, 1930 in Costa do Valado, Aveiro, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in April of 1955 where we lived for the greater part of his life. He enjoyed very much his 5 month holidays every year in his country of birth Portugal after he retired and up until some health issues no longer allowed him to do so. He did not have many hobbies but did enjoy a good soccer game with his favourite Portuguese team Benfica, Lisboa and of course his favourite Canadian hockey team the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He will always be cherished by is loving wife Florinda Carvalho of almost 61 years (January 15, 2023), Daughter Amelia Genio, son in law Joaquim Ferreira, grand children Andre(Ellina) Ferreira and Alex Ferreira as well as other family members and friends.

Visitation Services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M8V 1R2
In lieu of flowers the family would suggest a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
