Obituary for Dorothy Orr (Blenkhorn)

Dorothy Nellie Orr (nee Blenkhorn) April 3, 1927- October 7, 2020, died peacefully at Greenwood Nursing Home in Stratford. She was predeceased by her husband, W. T. Frederick Orr, and her parents, Helen (Nell) and John (Jack) Blenkhorn of Mimico. Dorothy and Fred moved to Rexdale around 1960. Dorothy has been in the Stratford area since 2005. She will be sadly missed by her son, Gordon, who resides in Hamilton.
Dorothy & Fred took trips and some cruises with their friends.
Dorothy worked at Ingram Clock for many years and later, in the Cafeteria at Thistletown high school in Rexdale, then Canox Industries..
In her spare time, Dorothy loved to crochet and made several pieces that revealed her creativity.
One of her "claims to fame" was the fact that she and her mother rescued a small boy from drowning. There was a write-up about it in the local Mimico newspaper.
Dorothy is now in a better place, free from pain and at peace with her Saviour.
