It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of John Downs Jr. on
November 10, 2020 at Toronto Western Hospital with his family by his side at age 62.
Predeceased by his father John Sr. and survived by his mother Betty, wife Mary-Lou,
sister Elizabeth (Douglas Barker), son Dereck and daughter Caitlin. Adored Uncle to
Sarah and William (Victoria). He will be missed by father-in-law Antonius and late Sybella
Deeder, brother-in-law Andreas Deeder (Zoriana Dutczak). He will be missed by
his cousins and many friends.

John was loving and generous to his family and friends with a great passion for hockey
and lacrosse. He will be missed by those whose lives he brought laughter and
brightness to. John graduated from New Toronto Secondary School and worked in the
family business J.J. Downs Industrial Plastics Inc. for over forty years.
Our many thanks to the staff at Toronto Western Hospital (6B and Neurology) for
their compassion and special care provided to John.
