Maria Grazia Pinto (nee Luisi)
February 13, 1926 – August 12, 2021
Passed away at the Mississauga Trillium Hospital in the late afternoon of August 12, 2021 at the age of 95. Much loved wife of Michele (deceased December 29, 2016) for almost 67 years. Dear mother of Mary (Flavio) and Josephine. Cherished Nonnina to Fred, Nicky, Lisa, Michael and Great-grandmother to Hannah, Sebastian, Savannah, Landon and Leilani.
Born and raised in Roseto Valfortore, Foggia, Italy, the daughter of Filippo and Concetta Luisi. Sister to Frank (deceased)(Maria), Donato (deceased)(Anna deceased), Lucia (Lorenzo) and Tony (Lucia). She will be missed by relatives and friends that knew her in her hometown of Roseto and Toronto.
Maria and Michele and their daughters immigrated to Canada in June 1958. They made their home in the Mimico (Etobicoke) area. Maria worked at Sanremo Bakery (Royal York Rd. Toronto) for over 30 years in the early 70’s to 90’s.
Friends will be received at the G. H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Avenue Toronto, on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 4:00 -9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, 277 Royal York Rd. Toronto, on Monday August 16, 2021 at 10:00 am. As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Maria may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Please contact the Funeral Home for Covid restriction protocols.
