Obituary for PAT TRUSZ

Our hearts are broken to announce that George Patrick Trusz (Pat) died suddenly of natural causes on January 2nd, 2022 at the age of 61.
Loving and affectionate husband of 22 years to Angela Salewsky. Doting father of Nick, Alex, Diana and Cameron Trusz. Predeceased by his loving mother Constance Bailey. Beloved son of George Trusz (Ann). Beloved brother of Tim Trusz (Kim), Tina Earle (Mark Censale), and Jay McKenzie. Pat will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews Tatyana and Mathew Trusz, Katherine and Sarah Earle, Tania Harper (Alan Willemsen), Tiffany Van Someren, Andrew McCaughtrie and Justin McCaughtrie, sisters-in-law Doris Harper (George) and Linda McCaughtrie, 6 great nephews, 5 great nieces, and cousins, aunts and uncles in Sudbury.
A lifelong transportation industry professional, Pat was a respected senior manager and described as the best boss anyone could have. In his later years he ran his own business as an independent contractor. Many industry colleagues and associates remained life-long valued friends.
Pat’s children were the spark in his eye. He loved them deeply and expressed his love freely. They will forever miss him and his love, affection, and life advice.
Pat’s true passion in life was showing his love to his family and friends with his cooking. All who entered the family home were treated to his elaborate culinary delights, warm hospitality, and quirky and sometimes outrageous humour. Nothing brought him more joy than treating his loved ones, friends and guests to gourmet meals, laughter and fellowship around the dining table. He also delighted in treating the neighbours to care packages of food. Pat and Angela also opened the family home to friends, family, guests, and tenants from around the world. Generous and a natural nurturer, Pat made sure everyone’s needs were taken care of before his own. He always remembered to say “I love you”.
The family will always fondly remember the years they all spent together at Tim and Kim’s cottage, how he was the life of the party, and how he treated everyone to his guitar playing around the campfire, often making up his own version of words to songs.
Pat and Angela enjoyed many trips together, which often involved scuba diving and hiking. They enjoyed entertaining, socializing, family events, and live music together. Pat was always very supportive of Angela’s various community endeavours and causes. The loss of a loving and supportive life partner will remain forever painful.
The family will agonizingly miss his physical presence, but love lives on.
A small service will be held and live-streamed on Saturday January 15th at 1:00 pm, followed by cremation. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held for extended family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to attend at a later date.
Donations in Pat’s memory can be made to the ALS Society of Canada, or to the Toronto Wildlife Centre.
