Obituary for JAROSLAVA URBAN

Sadly our beloved mother, Jaroslava (Sally) Urban passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022 at Toronto Western Hospital. Sally was wonderful and kind hearted, always ready to support and help us and others. She was friendly, had a cheerful disposition and was easy going. Her loving heart left a beacon of light in all of us and she will be sorely and greatly missed.

Sally was born the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Alexander Urban and Helena Pawlyk Urban. She grew up in Montreal and later moved to Toronto and purchased a condo with a panoramic view overlooking beautiful Lake Ontario on Toronto’s downtown waterfront. She enjoyed many visits with her family and friends to the Toronto Islands, cruises in the harbour and activities at the Harbour front.

She was very adventurous, travelling the world over visiting many far off lands, among them, the United Kingdom, Spain, Egypt, China, and most recently taking whirlwind trips to India, Dubai and Hawaii. She also enjoyed her yearly trips to Atlantic City. She especially enjoyed her frequent visits to family in Hudson, Quebec where she would spend time visiting the local shops, watching current events on the news, viewing movies and relaxing and unwinding in the country.

Our mother was an avid reader of biographies and magazines. Sally visited many cultural exhibits and enjoyed theatrical shows over the years. She looked forward to going to the cinema and especially enjoyed working as a background performer in the movies. She was a veritable movie buff and, with much enthusiasm, enjoyed sharing her stories and incredible experiences with friends and family, about working as a background performer in the many movies she appeared in.

Sally is pre-deceased by her daughter Christine and is survived by her son Ron and daughter Diana (Philip) and will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. She will live in our hearts forever.
