Obituary for STELLA LIBER (RUSYNYK)

Stell Liber (Rusynyk)

On Sunday November 27, 2022 Stell Liber (Rusynyk) passed away peacefully in Burlington at  Joseph Brant Hospital. Her 91 years in this world were lived with incredible adventure and a zest for life. There will be countless “Stella stories” told for years to come and all of them will end up with a smile on the face of people listening. She has gone to be with her beloved husband Bill, her brother Steve and her parents John and Julia whom she deeply loved and missed.

From her early days in Long Branch to Friars Lane in Thorncrest Village to the condo overlooking the Humber River to the house near the beaches in Hamilton, she enjoyed the finer things in life. She was passionate about finding top quality everything and was relentless about getting a bargain for them.

Family and friends were incredibly important to Stell. Her own personal dislike of her name lead to the nicknames of Auntie BOP or Auntie Star being used by many of her family. Her three nephews (Stephen, Andrew and Chris) meant the world to her and she treated them like her own sons. She was over the moon happy to have more family to love with great and great-great nieces and nephews (Alex, Scott, Zac, Avery, Nolan, Hudson, Harlem and Emmaline). She would do anything for her family and was like a second Mom to many of her relatives. The love of her life, Bill Liber, was ecstatic that Stell agreed to marry him after only 13 years of dating and they were inseparable once they were wed. Brother Steve was one of her best friends and his wife Betty was more like a sister than a sister-in-law. Her friends were a diverse group of people which lead to many outings to the theatre, shows and parties of all kinds.
