Obituary for MINNA EDWARDS (Campbell)

Minna Pearl Edwards was born on February 20, 1938, in Crofts, Clarendon Parish, Jamaica.  She passed away, peacefully, on January 4, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre (the same hospital where she had worked as a committed registered nurse in the Special Care Nursery Unit for 38 years). She left Jamaica, at the age of 19, to study nursing in London, England and then emigrated to Canada in 1966.

Minna was a devoted wife to Keith Edwards who died in 1997, loving mother to Anthony and Ian, and adoring sister to Trevor, Charmaine and Donna. She is predeceased by her father Clifton Campbell, mother Inez Campbell, and brothers James (Cecil) and Joseph (Colin). She was admired by her daughters in law, Heather and Debra; blessed by her grandchildren Aiden, Connor and Nathan; a kind, caring and thoughtful aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Mrs. Edwards was an active member of, Christ Church St. James Anglican Church until her illness prevented her from performing her duties.  She will be terribly missed.

Family and friends who are not able to join us in person for the funeral service at the church are invited to attend via Zoom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Church St. James Anglican Church (Click here) and/or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (Click here). Online condolences and memories may be left on her memory wall.
