Obituary for HELENA JANTOS

It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Helena Jantos on Thursday March 23 2023 just shy of her 97th birthday. She will be joining her parents, her late husband Peter, her son Bernhard, her siblings and her late friend Walter.  Helena will be deeply missed by her daughter Gertrude, sons  Alfred and Josef daughter-in-law Anna grandchildren Adam (Jessica), Justin (Jenna), Jonathan,Samantha (Nicholas) and her special great granddaughter Olivia.

Helena was born in Germany May 27th 1926 and immigrated from Poland in 1965 to Canada with her family and landed in Quebec. They took a train from there to come to Toronto, and moved into her first and only home until her passing. She worked tirelessly at St Joseph's Hospital for over 25 years in the Laundry and Housekeeping departments to provide a good stable home for her children after her  husband Peter passed away from cancer in 1970. She was such a proud strong and fearless woman. We will all miss her singing Happy Birthday to us and her delicious cooking especially her famous potato salads and her green eucalyptus candies she would buy everyone especially during the winter season. She would prepare food to feed her chickens which she named all "Coco". She had an immense love for her dogs from Tara, Lucy, Katie and her latest fur baby Chewie. She was fascinated with the Royal Family and she would read her magazines and share the latest Royal stories with us. She had so much pride that the last couple of years have been very difficult for her when she needed extra care. We are very grateful for one very special care giver named Ina who was an Angel in disguise. She took care of Oma as if she was her own family. They were a perfect match and we are truly grateful to have had Ina in our lives.

Let us celebrate Oma for her love, life, strength and generosity. God Bless You Oma. We will Miss You !

Thank you for loving us.

REST IN PEACE
