Obituary for John McDonald

H. John Anthony McDonald (May 27, 1931 – February 27, 2017) -
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Ajax Hospital, beloved husband to Ann Cecile (nee Boissonneault) for 54 years. Loving father to Andrew (Juliet), Laura (Rick), Jennifer (John) and Gregory. Cherished Pépé to Sarah, Mary, Leslie, Christopher, Patrick, Megan, David, and Matthew. Special brother-in-law to Bernice Yetman and Alice Boissonneault, and cousin to Helen L. Carroll. John was a Chief Stationary Engineer who dedicated his life to the Toronto Board of Education for 30+ years. His free time was spent puttering, gardening and spending time with family. John will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his ever-present smile and sense of humour by family and long-time friends. Thank you to the special staff in the Emergency Dept. and the 4th floor, west wing, for all their care and thoughtfulness. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday at 11:30 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, 277 Royal York Rd., Etobicoke. Reception to follow in G.H. Hogle Funeral Home lounge. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of your choice.
