Young, Eileen Beryl Young
98 Meadowcroft Place, Etobicoke, ON, formerly of Hartford, Nova Scotia and Long Branch, Ontario, passed away peacefully in Etobicoke General Hospital on January 23, 2009. Born in Hartford she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine (Ross) McKim. After finishing her schooling in Hartford, Eileen moved to Ontario where she worked for a time at T. Eaton Co., then married Harvey Douglas Young of Utterson, Ontario, on July 25,1952. Harvey, a veteran of WWII, worked for the Trane Heating Company until his retirement. Eileen and Harvey were faithful church attenders since joining Mimico Baptist Church in May, 1964. After Harvey retired, they divided their time between their house in Long Branch and their cottage on the Oxtongue River in Muskoka. Eileen and Harvey had no children. Surviving are the children of several of Eileen’s cousins and a number of Harvey’s nieces and nephews and their children. Eileen was predeceased by her husband (Dec. 1988), and her brother Laurence Ross McKim of Hartford, N.S. (Nov. 2003). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, from 1 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, (63 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke, ON), Reverend Jim Sanderson officiating. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens.
