The way mom met dad was they were both on campus and he walked up to her wearing black shoes, brown pants and a green jacket and said “ok, tell me the truth, do I look like a tree?” Mom laughed and was taken in by his charm and that same charisma that definitely made him one of a kind. They were married and had Richard me and Billy by the time they were in their early twenties. I always loved dad and although Billy and I were separated from him as children, I still loved my dad. I am thankful for the God given gifts dad passed down to us and there will always be a place in my heart reserved for you dad. I pray that dad found peace with God and that all who loved him find it too. Love, your daughter- Jamie Louise Blahun (nee Marks)

I can never thank Uncle John and Richard enough for opening my world up to Music. I remember one day in Mimico.. at a restaurant with those music boxes at the table. Uncle John popped in a quarter and cranked up a song. I never heard it before and it was great. Of course Richard piped up "Hey Steve can you Guess Who?" I responded "Don't know Rick .. who is it?" They both started howling. I was 7. It was my first experience with American Woman.
The love my father had for his brothers, although sometimes quite nerve racking for him, was without question inspirational. The three of them had a bond like no other,
I remember one day with Uncle John at the hospital. He arrived with a swagger and announced that he had tracked our family roots back to Lord Tennyson. "We are descendants of one of the greatest poets ever!"

"I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
Ring out the old, ring in the new, Ring, happy bells, across the snow: The year is going, let him go; Ring out the false, ring in the true."

Love you Uncle John
Stephen, Jennifer and Kody.
