In offering my condolences, they go out to all that knew and loved Zia Bettina – family and friends. We all feel a little emptier today with her loss. Words cannot begin to describe the wonderful, loving woman that she was. She offered her love to everyone that she met and expected nothing back in return. Whether you spoke to her a day ago or a year ago, it did not matter to her. She greeted everyone that called her and visited her with a joy to hear from them.
My life is full of wonderful memories of Zia Bettina. As a child, I knew her as Mammanonna. Even though she was not my Mammanonna, she filled that role for me and showed me the love as her own grandchild. I grew up, got married, had my own family and she was there for me and my family every step of the way. A smile, a kiss on the cheek and a package home of cookies, pizza, and anything else she had to give. Just last night, the kids were looking forward to their next visit to have some cookies and we had to let them know she was now in heaven. She was always happy to hear from us and see us.
I know my story is just one of the hundreds that we all share. She was surrounded by people that she loved and loved her back. We all mourn her loss today.
Rest in peace Mammanonna. They don’t make them like you anymore. Thank you for all that you gave us.
